The Six Pack: Texas A&M vs. Miami, Penn State vs.Auburn among top football picks in Week Three

It wasn’t the best start to The Six Pack. After drinking water on the first Saturday, we had a losing record in Week 2. However, it wasn’t all bad; The Kansas Jayhawks It came to hand us our first week-locking winner of the year, so we felt good. When you’re in trouble, you can always count on a strong football center in Kansas.

Of course, while I say that with my tongue firmly attached to the inside of my cheek, there is a lot of truth in it. Teams like Kansas are often undervalued in the market, especially early in the season when bookmakers still give a lot of respect to past performance and not enough for what we’re seeing now.

I’m looking forward to using that in a few of my picks this week. All Odds via Caesars Sportsbook.

Matches of the week

Featured game | Texas A&M Aegis vs. Miami Hurricanes (Florida)

number 13 Miami at number 24 Texas A&M: Jimbo Fisher may want to send a thank you note to Kirk Ferentz. If not because of insufficient comedy Yes Offended, more people will talk about how anemic the Aggies offense is. We’re talking about a Texas A&M offense that only managed 186 yards and 14 points against Appalachian State Defense who gave up 567 yards and 63 points against him North Carolina Just a week ago. Unless the Mountaineers import an entirely new defense in the week between those games, the Aggies have more to worry about than upset. If this crime did not figure things out, there would be a lot of losses in the future.

One of them could be this weekend against Miami. The Hurricanes have looked phenomenal in attack so far, but given the competition, it’s hard to put much faith in the numbers. So we have two offenses that we don’t know much about against two defenses that give much more reason to trust them. There’s a chance the Hurricanes will go to the college station and start getting upset, but there’s also a chance the Aggies will act together and recover from poor performance. Whatever happens, I don’t expect many points to be scored. Texas A&M 23, Miami 20 | under 44.5

Featured game | Auburn Tigers vs Penn State Nittany Lions

number 22 Pennsylvania state in Auburn: In the first week, Utah Travel to Gainesville to take on the mission Florida As a favorite on the road. We picked Florida as the surprise of the week in The Six Pack for a simple reason: you should probably bet the SEC team whenever you can get it as a home underdog in a game without conferences. History shows that the conference did well in games without conferences. Well, it’s no surprise that Florida beat Utah, and now here we are two weeks later with Pennsylvania traveling to Auburn as a 3-point favorite.

To be clear, I don’t think Pennsylvania is as good as Utah, and I don’t think Auburn is as good as Florida. That doesn’t mean I’m willing to trust the Penn State team that looked so shaky in a road match against them Bordeaux Week 0 to have an easy time in Jordan-Hare. I don’t see either of these teams being able to diverge that much from the other, so give me Auburn and the points. Auburn 24, Pennsylvania 23 | Auburn +3

Featured game | Houston Cougars vs Kansas Jayhawks

kansas in Houston: We’re going back to Kansas well, baby! The Jayhawks are a team that has never been seen in the power ratings so far. That was the case last week, and it is the case again this week against Houston. It’s understandable, as Houston is one of the best group five teams in the country and Kansas is, well, Kansas. Don’t be fooled though. This might be a nightmare match for the Cougars.

Kansas has one of the most explosive crimes in the country, ranking 10th with 17.5%. Its explosive dash rate of 16.7% ranks sixth. Houston struggled to get through it UTSA In the opening and lost Texas Tech Last week primarily because he couldn’t stop running. The Cougars defense ranks 117th nationally in pass rate versus runs and 104th in rate of explosive runs allowed. I don’t know if the Jayhawks are going to get out of trouble for the second week in a row, but it’s a very tough game for Houston’s defense and it should make this uncomfortable. Houston 35, KS 31 | KS +9

Featured game | Iowa Hawkeyes vs Nevada Wolfpack

Nevada in Iowa: Should we bet blindly on Iowa until proven otherwise? I think so! I already mentioned how awful Iowa is, but to get the point home with fantastical numbers, the Hawkeyes offense ranks 130 (out of 131) in pass rate, 131 points per possession, 131 in EPA per game, and 1,000,000 in sentiment. . Having said that, I expect to play much better this week, but only because Nevada is not strong defensively. Though, who knows? Playing Iowa might fix Nevada’s defensive numbers.

Anyway, the reason I love this isn’t just that Iowa’s crime is horrific. Nevada’s offensive is horrible as well, and still goes against Iowa’s still good defense. All those cool stats you mentioned with the Iowa crime? Nevada isn’t much better at any of them, and the good parts all stem from last week’s 41 points against them embodied word (which scored 55 by the way). Iowa 27, Nevada 3 | Under 39 years old

Country Champion for this week

Featured game | Virginia Cavaliers vs Old Dominion Monarchs

Old Dominion in Virginia: Virginia is another team that has never seen it before in the ratings, but the market looks like it is. Remember last season when the Cavaliers scored 34.6 points per game and Brennan Armstrong was on the verge of setting the ACC all-time passing records? This crime no longer exists. Robert Anna, the attack coordinator in Virginia last year, took this insult with him Syracuse. None of that means Tony Elliott and Des Kitchens won’t get it, but the Cleveland team is struggling hard.

Virginia ranks 114 in leadership scores, 105 in pass rate, and 110 in the EPA at every moment. Her offensive line is a big reason. She couldn’t protect Armstrong (UVA ranks 131st in allowable pressure) or punch holes in her running game. I don’t think Old Dominion is as successful here as it did against him Virginia Tech To become the Virginia State Champion, but I can’t trust a crime as bad as Virginia’s to cover this spread now. Virginia 27, Old Dominion 20 | Old Dominion +9

upset of the week

Featured game | Northern Illinois Huskies vs. Vanderbilt Commodores

Vanderbilt in Northern Illinois: Remember how I was saying to take the SEC team as a house dog in a game without conferences? Given my feelings about it, how do you think I feel about the SEC team being underdog for the MAC team? I wouldn’t argue that Vanderbilt is a strong company simply because it’s on the SEC, but it’s a better team than the market realizes. The crime, with Mike Wright at QB, is legal. I don’t know that the Dean would put 63 points on the huskies like they did Hawaiibut that’s more due to how NIU plays than how it defends.

The husky moves slowly in attack and limits his possessions. This is why they participate in so many single-score games. However, when the defense is on the field, it hasn’t done a good job of stopping teams. The Husky is ranked 93rd in defensive success rate and 119th in points allowed per lead. Do not think about this. Vanderbilt 31, Northern Illinois 23 | (+115) Vanderbilt
