Matthias caps off a big night with the HR team in ninth place with Rangers getting Edge A

ARLINGTON, Texas (AFP) – Mark Mathias hit his second zombie in the game, a one-two punch in the bottom of the ninth, as the Texas Rangers recovered from a five-time delay to defeat the Oakland Athletics 8-7 on Tuesday night.

Matthias received three additional base hits and led in four runs. Adolis Garcia added homer twice and had three RBIs for Texas.

Matthias collided with the decisive Homer to knock out Joel Payamps (3-5), who came in ninth.

Brooke Burke (7-3), the last of three pitchers from Texas, threw two rounds without goals to take the win.

After Rangers played a double-header for the night in Miami on Monday, Mathias finished second in the batting standings for the first time with the Texans.
